About Wheel of Time Map
Last updated: October 3, 2026
Wheel of Time Map is a free, independent reference for readers of Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson's The Wheel of Time and for viewers of the television series. It brings the geography of the story together in one place: an interactive map of the Westlands, a map of the wider world, a guide to every important location and the routes the main characters travel in the first book.
Why we built it
Most Wheel of Time maps online are single flat images. You cannot search them, you cannot tell which places matter in which book, and they often spoil later events for first-time readers. We wanted a map that answers the questions people actually ask while reading: where is this place, how far is it from that one, which nation does it belong to, and where did the characters go next.
The site is written for new readers as much as for long-time fans. Every guide is kept light on spoilers, and the spoiler filter on the map hides places that only become important after the book you are reading.
Who we are
Wheel of Time Map is run by a small, independent team of fans and web developers. We are not connected to the estate of Robert Jordan, to Tor Books, to Brandon Sanderson, to Sony Pictures Television or to Amazon. We read the books, rewatch the series, check details against the text, and build the site in our spare time.
The project is funded by the people behind it and, in future, by advertising. Ads never decide what we write, and we do not accept payment to change a guide or a map.
How the maps are made
The painted maps on this site are original artwork made for Wheel of Time Map. We created them with AI image tools, guided by the descriptions in the novels, and then edited, joined and checked them ourselves. They are not copies of the official book maps.
Every city, landmark, nation and river label is placed by hand by our team, and every label is written in the reader's language. Distances are estimates based on the common figure that Andor is about 1,700 miles wide, so they are a guide for readers rather than exact measurements.

Accuracy and corrections
We base every guide on the published novels first and the television series second, and we say so when the two differ. Even so, a world this large is easy to get wrong. If you spot a mistake, a misplaced city or a translation that reads badly, please tell us through the contact page. We review every report and update the site, usually within a few days.
Fan project and trademarks
This is an unofficial fan site. The Wheel of Time, its characters, places and related names are trademarks and copyrights of their respective owners and are used here only to identify the works we write about. Our own text, map artwork and code belong to Wheel of Time Map.
